At Last, It Can Be Told...

It is called "Top Tutor." Fifteen tutors tutor increasingly horrible students, while my boss and I critique them, and each round someone gets eliminated. Tutor R, our resident actor who relishes torturing our trainees with her incredibly authentic impressions of our worst students, offered to play the student, but I think it'd be funnier with real kids. fuzzyboo03 says I should film a pilot.

This weekend was nice. I did nothing except watch TV and read fic. (Well, I did do laundry and take my car in to be serviced. But there was a glorious lack of gym-going and any sort of PhD application progress.)

P.S. Jon Stewart, you know I love you, but that segment on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall just sucked. You have awesome comic timing. Your team . . . less so.

P.P.S. My arms hurt like hell tonight at weight-lifting class, and it was not good pain. Owies. And I missed NCIS for it, too. *pouts* On the upside, twitchylizard made homemade mac 'n' cheese tonight!

P.P.P.S. President Obama, you also get a "you know I love you, but" today. Your incredibly cowardly approach to the issue of abortion access (or lack thereof) in the health care bill seriously pisses me off. Many other people have detailed the ways in which your handling of this situation has, quite simply, failed, but the sad part is that it doesn't even surprise me. You have shown time and again that your empathy, which I believe to be both very real and one of your greatest assets, is stretched thin when expected to extend to queer people and women who need/want abortions. You simply do not get it.

I think I'm using this icon too much, but it's just. so. pretty.

Just watched the 2nd ep of this season and I couldn't be more in love with this show if Coach himself offered to do the nasty with me!!!! The classes are going well. I'm feeling pretty good about it, and I'm starting to make friends in the class. This is a good thing, since we're going to be together through the end of the fourth course, in July. :)

Work is... well, work. I love having my student teacher, and she's a huge help. She's really nice, and we get along great; we're very much alike, actually. Still, more than a little part of me would really love it if I could get someone to support me so I could write full-time. *g* Then again, who wouldn't?

Got to get up to continue making dinner soon; I'm making baked potato soup, and have the potatoes baking even as I type. I've cooked some bacon to add, and I've got some scallions as well. It's going to be yummy...and it's a perfect day for it: 46F and raining. Damp and grey and ucky. :P

Wow, no wonder I haven't posted in so long; my life is seriously boring! What's up with you?
