Icon Fic Meme

Snagged from vail_kagami

Pick any of my icons and post it or a link to it in a reply to this entry. I will then write a drabble based on that icon.

I know it says a drabble, but I'm not counting 100 words. Drabble, ficlet, random sentence, etc.

Thanks for playing!

Climb the Mountain
There were many things in life that weren't logical. Captain Kirk came instantly to mind and his need to charm any breathing biped into bed. And why again was he climbing that mountain? He wanted to do what to the mountain?

No, better not to ask. There were some things in life that were meant to remain illogical.

He'd write 50,000 words to avoid that conversation any day.

Re: Climb the Mountain
Look at my icon! It describes my restion to this! (Except, I did not tun into Uther.)

I love this!

Why is he climbing the mountain? Dear Spock should have a scientific interest in that: The climb is going where no man has gone before!

Re: Climb the Mountain
What a pity! If you'd turned into Uther, Arthur would be denied!

No one is going to understand our conversation. ;)

Although it beats hugging and enveloping the mountain.

Spock could study the tough young guys that are challenging the mountain. There's a passionate affair to be studied!

Ok, I'll play! I suppose it won't come as a surprise for you if I choose...

This one! *g*

Also? I like this "not sticking to 100 words but possibly writing just one sentence (or more) about it" attitude of yours! Might steal, both the attitude and the meme, and post it myself. I think I can manage one sentence about non B/J pairings, too ;)

Looking Up
Here you go, hon! I apologize for the delay. :)

There was a time when Arthur looked to the stands; he was looking for one man, his father. He hoped for a nod, a smile, some type of acknowledgment. Anything would be better than the bland statement “I trust you will do me proud.” The expectation of perfection. Uther would accept nothing less.

Now Arthur looks for someone else. What he gets in return is a maniac grin and a thumbs up sign. He gets approval and affirmation that no matter what happens, Merlin will always be by his side.

This meme is quite lovely. I shall steal it later. For now...Can I be silly and ask for something from your On a Boat! icon? :)

On a Boat
When the Doctor had promised him an experience of a lifetime, Jack had still been reluctant to leave Torchwood. He knew how those “experiences” often went. Usually it ended with him running for his life. Not that he was complaining, mind you. He just wasn’t going to give in to the Doctor that easily.

In the end he relented, grabbed his coat and followed the Doctor to the TARDIS.

His “experience of a lifetime” was actually torrential rainfall and a major TARDIS malfunction. At least she could float.

Jack watched the Doctor navigate the controls, his foot pushing a lever almost halfway around the console.

“Almost – there!” the Doctor announced triumphantly. He pulled on his coat and strode to the door. “You coming?”

Jack walked through the door, the TARDIS having found the only dry patch of land. They watched the water slowly recede.

“So, what are we waiting for?”

The Doctor pointed to a tiny speck in the distance. “That boat on the horizon.”

Jack squinted, using his hand to shield his eyes from the sun that was peeking through the clouds. “Huh. Looks like an ark.” Jack paused, glancing at the Doctor. “No.”

The Doctor grinned, rocking back on his heels. “No, what?”

“You’re joking.”

The Doctor shrugged. “Guess you’ll have to wait and see.”

Jack bumped his shoulder. “Does this mean we get to help repopulate the planet?”
