Author: leupagus & sutlers
Summary: Steve looks thin -- like he looked when they first met, actually, fresh off the plane and jet-lagged, before seventeen months of sneaking Danny’s malasadas had taken the the edge off of all his sharp angles. There’s a ratty duffel lying at his feet and a wicked-looking scar curves over his left bicep, disappearing under the sleeve of his t-shirt, skin still pink and new.
Reasons for Reccing: I've only watched two episodes Hawaii Five-0. I've been meaning to rectify that, but haven't managed to find the time. My general lack of knowledge in no way detracted from the sheer bad assitude of this story. This is another story that mementis recced last year that I took a chance on and haven't been sorry. The plot is powerful and involving, and it's a twisted romance that makes you ache for the men involved. The undercurrent of tension running through this story kept me on the edge my seat the entire time. Given the number of kudos associated with this story on AO3, it's obvious that it's well known. I'm hoping to introduce it to a few daring readers who are outside of the fandom. :) If someone could rec me fifty more stories just like this one, regardless of the fandom, I'd be on them in a heartbeat.
